Softball Recap: Loogootee Has No Trouble Against Forest Park

Loogootee not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 23-13). Everything went their way against the Forest Park Rangers as they made off with a 14-4 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Ashley Green spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jadaya Farhar was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelynn Sims, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Loogootee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forest Park only posted an OBP of .308.

The win made it two in a row for Loogootee and bumps their season record up to 3-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Forest Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Loogootee will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Evansville Reitz at 12:15 p.m. on May 10. As for Forest Park, they will host Wood Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight.
