Basketball Game Preview: Heartland Christian Lions vs. Harding Skippers

Heartland Christian has won seven straight games at home, while Harding has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Heartland Christian Lions will host the Harding Skippers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Heartland Christian picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 62-52 victory over Open Door Christian.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Harding walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Knights 74-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Skippers have posted since February 22, 2024.

Harding found their leader in sophomore Yomar Castellano, who posted 29 points. The match was Castellano's 11th in a row with at least 16 points. Brady Lawson was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Harding is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. Heartland Christian's victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
