Basketball Recap: Warwick Comes Up Short

Warwick suffered their closest defeat since March 2, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Cornwall Central Dragons by a score of 51-49. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Warwick's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Cornwall Central, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warwick will take on Washingtonville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Washingtonville has seven straight victories, Warwick has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for Cornwall Central, they will square off against Monticello at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th.
