Softball Recap: Montwood Sets Scoring Season-High Against Chapin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montwood). They were the clear victor by a 19-4 margin over the Chapin Huskies on Tuesday. Considering the Rams have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Mia Telles, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jaeda Quinones was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Montwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was the fourth in a row for Montwood, bringing their record for this year to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chapin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-2.

Montwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Parkland on the 27th. As for Chapin, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Americas on the 28th.
