Basketball Game Preview: Dos Palos Broncos vs. Firebaugh Eagles

Dos Palos is 1-9 against Firebaugh since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Dos Palos Broncos will welcome the Firebaugh Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Dos Palos will be strutting in after a victory while Firebaugh will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Dos Palos turned things around against Tranquillity on Friday. They walked away with a 39-31 win over the Tigers.

Dos Palos got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Lish out in front who posted ten points. Ace O'Banion was another key player, putting up five points and seven rebounds.

Dos Palos smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Firebaugh suffered their closest loss since December 23, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Avenal by a score of 41-38. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Firebaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Dos Palos, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-12.

Things could have been worse for Dos Palos, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-40 loss to Firebaugh in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Dos Palos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
