Football Game Preview: Hartselle Tigers vs. Woodlawn Colonels + How To Watch

The Hartselle Tigers will square off against the Woodlawn Colonels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hartselle's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Hartselle is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Decatur: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Red Raiders out of the water with a 42-7 final score. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Jaheim Pruitt was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 175 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. Carter Lee was another key player, rushing for 42 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hartselle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Hartselle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Chris Hutson, Braden Weathers, and Cole Miles picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Woodlawn didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mortimer Jordan on Friday, but they still walked away with a 26-21 win.

Woodlawn's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Hartselle, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Everything came up roses for Hartselle against Woodlawn in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-0 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Colonels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
