Baseball Game Preview: Tustin Tillers vs. Calvary Chapel Eagles

The Tustin Tillers will head out to square off against the Calvary Chapel Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tustin will be strutting in after a win while Calvary Chapel will be coming in after a defeat.

Tustin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They skirted past Sunny Hills 10-9.

Tustin let Nyte Teeter and Daniel Benally run wild. Teeter got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Benally got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Benally has become a key player for Tustin: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-14-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Roman Lavander, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel came up short against Fullerton on Friday and fell 8-3. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly five runs.

Tustin has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-15-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Calvary Chapel, they dropped their record down to 9-15-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
