Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Refugio's 13th in Last 14 Outings

Refugio had won six straight road games and Bradi Fox-Smith did her part to make it seven on Friday. The Refugio Bobcats skirted past the Yorktown Wildcats 41-38 thanks in part to Fox-Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Laken Cancino was another key player, putting up two points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Refugio is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season. As for Yorktown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-11.

Refugio will face off against Woodsboro at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Refugio is facing Woodsboro at the right time seeing as Woodsboro is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Yorktown, they will square off against Port Aransas at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Aransas will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Yorktown surely won't give up without a fight.
