Basketball Recap: Republic Comes Up Short

Republic lost against Helias back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Republic Tigers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to the Helias Crusaders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Republic moved to 15-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Helias, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-9.

Republic will face off against Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Helias, they will challenge Camdenton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Helias knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Camdenton likes a good challenge.
