Berwick has gone 5-0 against Pittston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Berwick Bulldogs will face off against the Pittston Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Berwick will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, everything went Berwick's way against Tunkhannock as Berwick made off with a 3-0 victory.
Berwick was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-21.
Grace Robbins was her usual excellent self, getting 12 aces, 11 kills, and four digs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Rauch, who had eight digs and two aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Berwick was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Pittston and Wyoming Area met for a duel last Thursday where Pittston prevailed. Pittston came out on top in a nail-biter against Wyoming Area , sneaking past 3-2.
Pittston wouldn't go down easily and took Wyoming Area into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-20, 15-9.
Berwick is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Pittston, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
