Volleyball Recap: Devils Lake Falls Despite Big Games from Brynlee Wolf and Riley Remmick

Devils Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grafton Spoilers. The Firebirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spoilers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

Devils Lake couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Grafton a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 30-28, 22-25, 25-18, 15-6.

Devils Lake's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley Remmick, who had seven aces and three digs, and Brynlee Wolf, who had three digs and three aces.

Devils Lake now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Grafton, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Devils Lake has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 tie against Velva on the 27th. As for Grafton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Thompson on the 29th.
