Basketball Game Preview: Western Albemarle Warriors vs. Broadway Gobblers

The Western Albemarle Warriors will challenge the Broadway Gobblers on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Western Albemarle sitting on 13 straight victories and Broadway on four.

Western Albemarle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 46-39 win over East Rockingham.

Meanwhile, Broadway hadn't done well against Spotswood recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Broadway came out on top against Spotswood by a score of 55-46.

Western Albemarle pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Broadway, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.

Western Albemarle strolled past Broadway in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 48-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western Albemarle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
