Baseball Recap: Ingleside Comes Up Short

Ingleside had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 10-11-2 to make it six. They fell just short of the Jones Trojans by a score of 4-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 7-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Marcus Barron made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Jones, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Ingleside since March 7, 2023.

On Jones' side, Damien Vasquez was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Luke Roznovsky, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Coming up, Ingleside will be playing at home against Rockport-Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.73 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jones, they will head out to face off against Robstown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
