Recap: Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles vs. Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers
The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 92-49 win over Legion Collegiate Academy at home. The win was familiar territory for Gray Collegiate Academy who now have nine in a row.
Gray Collegiate Academy was led to victory by Treyvon Maddox and Darius Carr. Maddox scored 22 points, while Carr dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carr has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaden Gerald, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Legion Collegiate Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaiah Worley, who scored 11 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Worley grabbed two or more steals. Cooper Brzozka was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Gray Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 19-5 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Gray Collegiate Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome Eau Claire at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Eau Claire will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Gray Collegiate Academy is ranked eighth). Legion Collegiate Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Providence Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
