Football Recap: Pahranagat Valley Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Pahranagat Valley rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 60-34 margin over the Mineral County Serpents. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Pahranagat Valley to victory were Braxten Tsosie and Jesse Stewart. Tsosie rushed for 160 yards and three scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, while Stewart rushed for 143 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Thiriot, who gained 89 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pahranagat Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 453 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mineral County only rushed for 154.

Despite the loss, Mineral County still got an impressive performance from Chase Reeves, who threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 107 yards. Another player making a difference was Quentin Isom, who picked up 79 receiving yards and one score.

The win (which was Pahranagat Valley's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Mineral County, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.

Coming up, Pahranagat Valley will face off against Tonopah on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 10.7, the Muckers 8.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Mineral County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
