Volleyball Recap: West Port Beats Vanguard for Their Fifth Straight Victory

West Port had won four straight games and Luis Monserat did his part to make it five on Wednesday. The West Port Wolf Pack put the hurt on the Vanguard Knights with a sharp 3-0 victory for which the team can thank Monserat, who had 19 digs and seven aces. Monserat is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season.

West Port never let Vanguard on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22, 25-15.

West Port's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Vanguard, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, West Port and North Marion will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Vanguard, they will venture away from home to face off against Belleview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Vanguard's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
