Baseball Recap: Pueblo Central Gets the Win

Pueblo Central was handed a 13-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the La Grande Tigers.

Jordan Arguello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Pueblo Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Monlux, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Chase Swerdfeger also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Pueblo Central's record now sits at 7-2. As for La Grande, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Pueblo Central will take on Nelson in a tournament on Thursday. As for La Grande, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Philomath at 1:00 p.m. on April 5.
