Basketball Game Preview: Canton Tigers vs. Van-Far Indians

Canton is on a six-game streak of home losses, Van-Far a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Wednesday. The Canton Tigers will host the Van-Far Indians at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Canton came up short against North Shelby and fell 44-32.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-29, which was the final score in Van-Far's tilt against Palmyra on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Panthers are ranked 100th).

Canton will have to contain Chloe Zumwalt as she made an impact in Van-Far's last game. She went 7 for 15 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Skwirtz, who posted two points.

Van-Far's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Canton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Everything came up roses for Canton against Van-Far when the teams last played back in January of 2023, as the team secured a 57-25 victory. Will Canton repeat their success, or does Van-Far have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
