Gueydan scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 25-20 to Highland Baptist Christian. Gueydan just can't catch a break and has now endured five defeats in a row.

Ty Falgout stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Gueydan is 2-1 when Falgout posts two or more runs, but 2-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Perrin, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Gueydan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Gueydan's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Highland Baptist Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Coincidentally, Gueydan and Highland Baptist Christian will both be playing Westminster Christian Academy the next time they take the field. Highland Baptist Christian will host Westminster Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Gueydan will host them at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
