Basketball Game Preview: Munster Mustangs vs. Hammond Central Wolves

The Munster Mustangs will challenge the Hammond Central Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Munster knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Hammond Central likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Munster was fully in charge, breezing past Whiting 75-21. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Hammond Central came up short against Valparaiso on Friday and fell 50-41.

Hammond Central's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Munster, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Munster and Hammond Central were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, but Munster came up empty-handed after a 54-53 defeat. Can Munster avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
