Volleyball Game Preview: Piedmont Panthers vs. Charlotte Catholic Cougars

Piedmont hasn't had much luck against Charlotte Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will face off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

It was a proper cat-fight when Piedmont faced off against Anson on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Bearcats.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Catholic came up short against Cuthbertson on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Cavaliers: they've now lost three in a row.

While Charlotte Catholic had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Charlotte Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Piedmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Piedmont beat Charlotte Catholic 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
