Baseball Recap: Edisto Comes Up Short

Edisto fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Branchville on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost nine in a row.

Edisto saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Edisto's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Branchville, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Edisto will venture away from home to square off against Whale Branch at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Branchville, they will head out to take on Baptist Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Yellow Jackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
