Basketball Game Preview: Tabiona Tigers vs. Green River Pirates

Tabiona has gone 9-1 against Green River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 5:30 p.m. Tabiona will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Tabiona is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Maeser Prep Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Lions out of the water with a 65-14 final score. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Maecie Hagman was nothing short of spectacular: she went 9-for-12 to rack up 18 points and six rebounds. She has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: she's posted one of at least 70% every time she's hit the court this season. Kaidence Pippy was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Green River scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a blow against Bryce Valley, falling 59-17. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Tabiona's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Green River, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Tabiona took their victory against Green River when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 56-30 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
