Soccer Game Preview: Salida vs. Forge Christian

The Salida Spartans will square off against the Forge Christian Fury at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Salida is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Salida is headed into the game having not lost since March 26 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Ridgway finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Salida's goal came courtesy of Alice Hull, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Forge Christian had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Buffaloes get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Forge Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by four goals or more this season.

Forge Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matches. Salida's draw gives them a new season record of 7-2-5.

Salida beat Forge Christian by a goal when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 3-2. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Fury have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
