Basketball Recap: Milford Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Gus Coutinho and Andrew Rivera

Milford lost against Attleboro back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Milford Scarlet Hawks took a hard 66-48 fall against the Attleboro Bombardiers. While losing is never fun, the Scarlet Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bombardiers are ranked second).

Milford's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Andrew Rivera, who posted 18 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds, and Gus Coutinho, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Coutinho's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Daniels, who earned seven points and seven rebounds.

Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Attleboro, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Milford will challenge King Philip Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Attleboro, they will take on Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
