The New Kent Trojans will head out to face off against the Grafton Clippers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. New Kent will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
New Kent's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Bruton. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brody Cash made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Michael Hetzel was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Warren, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
New Kent was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Grafton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Tigers. That's two games straight that the Clippers have won by just one run.
Grafton pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for New Kent, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
New Kent skirted past Grafton 2-1 in their previous matchup last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
