Basketball Recap: Kings Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Riverdale Christian on Tuesday, Kings Christian came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell 53-49 to the Delano Tigers on Thursday.

Leading Delano to victory were Jotham Amodo and Liam Amodo. Jotham posted 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists, while Liam put up 15 points and six boards. Liam has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Raul Quezada, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Kings Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Delano, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Kings Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Yosemite at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Delano, they and Orosi will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
