Baseball Game Preview: Hoffman Estates Hawks vs. Buffalo Grove Bison

Hoffman Estates hasn't had much luck against Buffalo Grove recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Bison at 4:45 p.m. Buffalo Grove took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hoffman Estates, who comes in off a win.

Hoffman Estates will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Conant, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hawks walked away with a 7-4 win over the Cougars on Wednesday.

Luis Tobella was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ty Pearson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Hersey, falling 11-0. Considering the last time the Bison couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Hoffman Estates' victory bumped their record up to 8-18. As for Buffalo Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-19-2.

Hoffman Estates suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Buffalo Grove in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
