Recap: Sunset Apollos vs. Southridge Skyhawks
The Sunset Apollos lost against the Southridge Skyhawks back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sunset fell 54-45 to Southridge. While losing is never fun, Sunset can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Southridge is ranked 13th).
Gabby Ramm and Hannah Leffler certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Ramm scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Leffler scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Foord, who scored four points along with five steals.
Sunset's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Southridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Sunset will head out on the road to challenge Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jesuit is coming into the game with five straight victories at home, so Sunset is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Southridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Aloha at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
