Softball Preview: South Panola Tigers vs. Corinth Warriors        
        
		
            
 The South Panola Tigers will head out on the road to  take on  the Corinth Warriors at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 If South Panola beats Corinth with eight  runs on Friday, it's going to be the  squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two  contests with that exact score. South Panola was the clear victor by  an  8-0 margin over Choctaw County on Tuesday. The  victory was nothing new for South Panola as they're now sitting on six straight.
  Sadie Bright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just zero earned runs on one hit and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, South Panola's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Nia Fondren, who  went 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Makenzie Houston, who  went 1-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Meanwhile, Corinth scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Thursday. They put the hurt on West Point with a sharp  21-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the  season.
  Callie Pounders looked comfortable as she  tossed 1.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits.
 At the plate,  Lainey Briggs was a standout: she went 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.  Maggie Parchman was another key contributor,  going 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs.
 South Panola pushed their record up to 23-3 with that  victory, which was their 11th straight  on the road dating back to last season. As for Corinth, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 14 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record  this season.
 South Panola came up short against Corinth in their previous meeting  back in April of 2015, falling  4-1. Can South Panola avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
