Baseball Game Preview: La Jolla Vikings vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers

For the second straight game, La Jolla will face off against Mission Bay. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m.

La Jolla is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Mission Bay on Monday. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 2-1.

For Mission Bay's part, Van Playman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Playman has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mission Bay saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

La Jolla now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Mission Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.
