Preview: Rye Thunderbolts vs. Rocky Ford Meloneers
The Rye Thunderbolts will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rocky Ford Meloneers at 5:30 p.m. Rye is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, Rye was beaten by Salida 52-24.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Taci Ehrlich, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Rocky Ford managed to keep up with Fowler until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Rocky Ford had to suffer through a rough 53-21 loss at the hands of Fowler. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Rocky Ford has suffered yet this season.
Rye's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Rocky Ford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Rye came up short against Rocky Ford when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 30-23. Can Rye avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
