Volleyball Recap: Manteca Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Patterson on Tuesday, Manteca came back down to earth. The Buffaloes took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sierra Timberwolves on Thursday. The Buffaloes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Timberwolves earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Manteca came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22.

Amari Currey was a one-woman wrecking crew For Sierra. as she had 12 digs and five aces. What's more, Currey posted five assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Manteca's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Sierra, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Manteca will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Central Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on the 13th. As for Sierra, they will challenge Patterson at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
