Baseball Game Preview: Chalker Wildcats vs. Harding Skippers

The Chalker Wildcats will take on the Harding Skippers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

After dropping their season opener at home, Harding is headed out to face a Wildcats team ready to give their home crowd a win. Chalker came up short against St. John on Wednesday, falling 21-1. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Fighting Herald: they've now lost six in a row.

Bobby Prowitt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Lawrence Upper.

Harding saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Slavkovsky, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Slavkovsky brought in this season.

Everything went Chalker's way against Harding in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Chalker made off with a 15-8 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Skippers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
