League recap: Dewar scores huge upset over Davenport

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Dewar, who took down eighth ranked Davenport, 27-18.

Adding to the longest winning streak in B District 4 (8 Man) this week, Wetumka beat Porum 50-18. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Jake Briggs threw for 191 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Tanner Lyon made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs lost to the Dragons. He recorded 2 fumbles.

Hunter Reed provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Davenport lost to Dewar. He completed 15 passes for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 74 yards. Reed's favorite target this week was Dakota Keith, who caught 7 passes for 84 yards.

Briggs put up the best numbers in passing as Wetumka topped the Panthers. Briggs' favorite target this week was Jonathan Adams, who caught 3 passes for 135 yards.

Waymon Potts' team's Briggs and Chase Williams led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Briggs has thrown for 821 yards this season, while Williams has 17 catches for 316 yards. Kaleb Kerley from Strother leads the league in rushing with 950 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Chieftains and Josh Been's team. Wetumka enters the contest ranked sixth in the state, while the Dragons ranks 22nd.

Kerley of the the Yellowjackets is only 50 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Kerley has rushed for 950 yards on 83 carries so far this year.

Strother was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in B District 4 (8 Man). Shane Page's team defeated Bowlegs 74-12 earlier in the week.
