Baseball Game Preview: Boswell Scorpions vs. Smithville Braves

The Boswell Scorpions are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge the Smithville Braves at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Boswell fell victim to Valliant and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Scorpions have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, Smithville came up short against Valliant on Thursday, falling 12-2.

Smithville's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Boswell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Boswell skirted past Smithville 9-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Does Boswell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Smithville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
