Softball Game Preview: Sacred Heart Indians vs. St. Paul Cardinals

The Sacred Heart Indians will head out to face off against the St. Paul Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sacred Heart is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Sacred Heart made up a huge gap compared to their last game against SA S, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 12-5 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Indians have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul). Everything went their way against Lutheran on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-3 win.

Sacred Heart's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Everything went Sacred Heart's way against St. Paul in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as Sacred Heart made off with an 18-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
