Softball Recap: Ouachita Parish Comes Up Short

Ouachita Parish fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Ruston on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 8-7. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Madisyn Lenard was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Journee Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Ouachita Parish's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Ruston, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14.

Looking ahead, Ouachita Parish will square off against Pineville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Ruston, they will challenge West Monroe at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
