Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Falls Short Against Ranked Marquette

Lafayette faced Marquette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lancers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lafayette's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nate Kraemer, who had 13 assists and seven digs, and Alex Behl, who had seven digs and two assists.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Marquette, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Parkway South on the 26th. As for Marquette, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Parkway Central on the 26th.
