Volleyball Recap: Granite Hills Takes a Loss

Granite Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-17.

Wonderful College Prep Academy had a senior duo take command as Selena Rico had eight aces and three digs and Daniela Macias had 17 kills, seven digs, and three aces. With that strong performance, Rico is now averaging an impressive 12.6 assists per game. Another player making a difference was Marjorie Guevara, who had 12 assists and three digs.

Granite Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Granite Hills will welcome Wonderful College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for the Wolves, they will be playing at home against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
