The Canyon Springs Cougars waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 57-56 win over Paloma Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Canyon Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gabriel Rojo led the charge by scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rojo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Vann, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
