Baseball Game Preview: Newbury Park Panthers vs. Agoura Chargers

For the second straight game, Newbury Park will face off against Agoura. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Newbury Park will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Newbury Park turned things around against Agoura on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Chargers 5-4.

Davis Trudeau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Cole Munyon was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Newbury Park: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carson Richter, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

The defeat snapped Agoura's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record. As for Newbury Park, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-6.
