Basketball Recap: Providence Academy Comes Up Short

Providence Academy and Regents Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Providence Academy had to settle for second. They fell 59-48 to the Regents Academy Eagles.

Jonah Shipp was a one-man wrecking crew for Regents Academy as he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards. Shipp has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Hugo Tierra, who posted six points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds.

Providence Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Regents Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Providence Academy nor Regents Academy have any future games scheduled.
