Basketball Recap: Barbers Hill Victorious

Barbers Hill posted their closest win since December 19, 2023 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Stratford Spartans 48-45. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Spartans are ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Barbers Hill's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Stratford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barbers Hill will take on Beaumont United at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stratford, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cypress Falls at 12:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
