Volleyball Recap: Circle Christian Takes a Loss

Circle Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Lake Academy Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 21-25, 25-8.

Despite the loss, Circle Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Jay Blevins had 16 digs, eight kills, two aces, and one block. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Blevins.

Circle Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Forest Lake Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Circle Christian will host Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Forest Lake Academy, they will be playing at home against Orlando Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
