Basketball Recap: St. Albans Comes Up Short

St. Albans lost to Greenbrier East back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Dragons took a blow against the Spartans, falling 75-37. The contest marked the Red Dragons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ireland Barker and Alayna Hermansdorfer certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Barker shot 63% from the field en route to 12 points, while Hermansdorfer almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. Hermansdorfer has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Peyton Francis also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Albans and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Greenbrier East, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

St. Albans wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-47 loss against University on the 30th. As for Greenbrier East, they have also already played their next matchup, a 45-31 victory against Martinsburg on the 30th.
