Basketball Game Preview: Fryeburg Raiders vs. Gray-New Gloucester Patriots

Fryeburg is 2-8 against Gray-New Gloucester since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Fryeburg ended up a good deal behind Poland and lost 50-36. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Knights are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gray-New Gloucester). They breezed past Lake Region to the tune of 73-35 on Tuesday. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

The win (which was Gray-New Gloucester's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Fryeburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.
