Basketball Recap: Stewart County Takes a Loss

Stewart County was the 60-37 winner over Mitchell County when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Stewart County Royal Knights took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mitchell County Eagles. The Royal Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mitchell County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tytionna Draggs led the charge by going 5 for 6 on her way to 10 points. Sariyah Chester was another key player, going 7 of 13 on her way to 12 points.

Stewart County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mitchell County, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

When Stewart County and Mitchell County next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Stewart County will try to stop Early County's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Mitchell County will challenge Seminole County and their six-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
