Basketball Recap: Northside Takes a Loss

Northside suffered their biggest defeat since February 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Lee County Trojans 66-36. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Trojans are ranked 44th).

Loss or not, Northside got some senior leadership from Chaston Brown and Jordan Gaines. Brown posted seven points along with nine boards and three blocks, while Gaines earned 13 points and six rebounds. That was a full 36.1% of Northside's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

This is the second loss in a row for Northside and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Lee County, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Northside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-56 victory against Coffee on the 10th. As for Lee County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-37 win against Veterans on the 10th.
