Volleyball Recap: Adamaris Sierra's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gustine over Le Grand

Gustine lost against Le Grand back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Reds fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Gustine took Le Grand into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 20-25, 22-25, 15-9.

Gustine's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adamaris Sierra, who had ten kills and six digs. Sierra has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaclynn Lopez, who had eight kills and five digs.

Gustine's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Le Grand, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Gustine will square off against Orestimba at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Le Grand, they will take on Waterford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
